A source close to rapper Kanye West confirmed yesterday (4) to TMZ that he has given up performing at the biggest North American festival: Coachella. His online behavior could be one reason. He was recently cut from performing at the Grammys (3). However neither the rapper nor the festival representatives have responded to this.
The festival that would be held last year (2021), was postponed to 2022 due the pandemic.Controversies about the use of a mask and the requirement of the Covid vaccination certificate have been present in recent months. Kanye would perform on two nights of the festival as a headliner. The event takes place on the weekends of April 15th to 17th, and April 22th to 24th, in the desert in southern California.
On the other days of the festival renowned artists will be on the stage with headliners such as Oscar winner Billie Eilish and the former One Direction Harry Styles. And the returning of the Swedish House Mafia to the desert. Names like Doja Cat, Big Sean, Anitta, Lil Baby and Megan Thee Stallion will be there too. Ye’s replacement hasn’t been released yet.
