On Tuesday (19), Alicia Silverstone, 45, revealed that she and her son Bear, 11, are still sleeping together. When participating in ‘The Ellen Fisher Podcast’, the actress commented on the connection between the two.

“Bear and I still sleep together,” she said. According to her, she’s just “following nature. “If you were in any kind of wild setting where there are animals…if you put your baby over there,” she said, pointing, “your baby is going to get eaten. It’s not ideal for the baby to be over there.”

In the interview, Silverstone also said her son hasn’t needed medicine in his 11 years of life, for which she credits his vegan diet. She also noted that, over the years, she’s gotten a lot of flak for her commitment to veganism and her alternative parenting style.
“I’m a natural, loving mother,” Silverstone said during the podcast. “I believe in love, I believe in nature and our society is afraid of nature and love.The things I do I didn’t invent, nothing. I’d like to take the credit, but I didn’t. I just follow nature”.
She also explained the method she used to teach Bear how to use the toilet. The artist dispensed with diapers and only noticed the “clues” that the boy needed to go to the bathroom. “It’s so amazing. It’s so easy,” she said. “When I finished feeding him, he would go to the toilet. When I woke up from a nap, I went to the bathroom.”
In social media, the revelation aroused great repercussions, netizens accused the actress of being an overprotective mother and highlighted how much this can be problematic in the child’s future. Bear is Silverstone’s only child. The boy is from her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki. The former couple were married for 13 years before getting divorced in 2018.
