Kseniya Alexandrova, a Russian model and former Miss Universe contestant, has tragically died at the age of 30 following a rare and violent road accident involving a moose. The incident occurred on 5 July near Rzhev, approximately 230 km from Moscow, while she was travelling with her husband, Ilya.
According to Ilya’s interview with local media outlet RIA Novosti, the moose appeared suddenly in front of their Porsche Panamera, leaving no time to brake or swerve. The animal struck the windscreen, fatally injuring Kseniya. “She was unconscious instantly, her face covered in blood,” Ilya recounted. The impact fractured her frontal skull bones, leading to a severe brain injury.
The collision was so intense that the moose crashed through the windscreen. Due to the initial impact being on the animal’s legs, the car’s airbags failed to deploy. Kseniya fell into a coma soon after and, despite briefly regaining consciousness, was unable to speak and required life support.
Her condition deteriorated rapidly. Ilya revealed that she developed meningitis, which progressed to a more severe brain inflammation, followed by sepsis. Although doctors attempted to resuscitate her, she ultimately passed away on 13 August.
Her modelling agency, Modus Vivendis, confirmed her death in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, describing her as a radiant, talented individual who inspired those around her. “She will always be a symbol of beauty, strength and kindness,” the agency wrote.
The tragic event has highlighted the dangers of wildlife-related road accidents in Russia, where moose and other animals frequently cross highways, posing serious risks to motorists.
Kseniya leaves behind a grieving husband, family, and many friends mourning a life cut tragically short.
