The infraction in question concerns the union’s request that its members avoid dressing as film characters, in order not to promote the brands and products of the studios with which they are negotiating better working conditions. Fox’s post in her costume drew even more attention due to the tagging of the Actors Guild profile on Instagram, which was interpreted by many as a provocation. In photos recently shared on her account, Megan Fox appears as the character Gogo Yubari, originally played by Japanese actress Chiaki Kuriyama in ‘Kill Bill Vol. 1’ (2003). Meanwhile, her partner, musician Machine Gun Kelly, was dressed as the Bride (Uma Thurman).

Actress Lisa Ann Walter, known for her participation in the series ‘Abbott Elementary’, mocked the situation in the comments of the post, saying: “A rebel. Keep sharing your nonsense, beautiful. Meanwhile, I’m here working 10 hours a day without pay in search of fair working conditions”. Actress Paige McGarvin also expressed criticism, stating, “I understand that you can disagree with the union and express that privately, with your closest circle. However, using your large platform to attack the union and promote division does nothing to anything”.
Actress Ruby Rose also brought up the fact that ‘Kill Bill’ was produced by Harvey Weinstein, a notorious sex offender, and mentioned the incident involving Uma Thurman in an on-set car accident, which was kept secret for decades. She questioned whether this situation exemplifies the power of studios over actors.
