Date:

The 2024 Oscars will start an hour earlier. According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the broadcast will be brought forward by one hour next year.

++ Jodie Foster on Superhero films: “A phase that lasted a little too long”

With this the ceremony will be live on Sunday, March 10, from 7pm to 10:30pm. EST / 4pm-7:30pm PST.

According to sources linked to the portal The Hollywood Reporter, the change in time is an attempt to prevent audience leakage from the east coast of the United States.

++ Sebastian Stan will play Donald Trump in the film ‘The Apprentice’

In this region, due to the time difference, the ceremony used to start at 8pm local time, and the long 3:30am broadcast suffers audience drops as the time progresses.

Thus, starting an hour before, the attempt is to end the awards ceremony in prime time.

The 2024 Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The nominations of the nominees will be made on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, while the ceremony will take place on March 10.
