President Joe Biden demanded, this Friday (29), that Congress overcome its divisions and “act without further delay” to approve the sending of aid to Ukraine, in the face of massive Russian airstrikes that demonstrate the intention to “destroy ” your neighbor.

“Unless Congress takes urgent action in the new year, we will not be able to continue sending the vital weapons and air defense systems Ukraine needs to protect its people”.
“Congress must step forward and act without further delay,” said Biden, quoted in a White House statement.
It is worth remembering that on Wednesday (27), the USA announced a transfer of 250 million dollars (R$ 1.207 billion, at current prices) in military aid to Ukraine. This was the last support package available to the Executive without requiring Congressional approval.
With this, the United Kingdom announced, this Friday (29), that it will send approximately 200 anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine, to reinforce its defenses after a wave of Russian bombings in several cities in the country.
Thus, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps also called on the “free world” to “come together and step up efforts to provide Ukraine with what it needs to win”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is “testing Ukrainian defenses and the West’s resolve (…),” Shapps said in a statement.
The UK’s delivery of the missiles “sends an unequivocal message that, in the face of Russian brutality, the UK remains fully committed to supporting Ukraine”, he concluded.
